Fashion event: "Der letzte Schrei II" "The Latest Trend II"
Date: 20th – 21st March 2004
Venue: Cinematte, Bern, Switzerland
As the first event "Der letzte Schrei" was a great success, the coordination team decided to set up a second edition. However, due to the lack of sponsors we had a very reduced budget. This was a challenge.
"Der letzte Schrei" was another two-day fashion event at Cinématte in Bern. Eleven Swiss Fashion Designers presented their creations. Apart from the fashion show, the visitors had the possibility to watch a film, have a drink, listen to live music, or join the fashion performance which ran on Saturday for four consecutive times.
Concept
"Souvenir De Paris": light-footed, sexy and slightly melancholic.

The Music
We used elegant French music from the 40’s. Between some songs, we integrated short, sensual, funny dialogues in French.
The clothes
Everyday clothes: elegant, practical or classical but always with a special twist.

The stage
Two raised platforms at the sides of the stage and a beige carpet on the catwalk: very simple and calm.

Shadow and light
We placed a light behind a white screen, out of which the models entered onto the stage. As the models came out, the audience could appreciate the shadows in anticipation.
The flyer we had used to advertise the show was printed in pink and red tones; we used the same colours during the fashion show.
Number-girl
I had to devise a simple but efficient way to ensure that the audience remembered which clothes belonged to which designer. This took the form of a ‘number-girl’: A dancer dressed in a glittery pink and silver costume as from ‘Holidays on Ice’. She looked magical. She used a pink feather-framed nameplate on which the audience could read the designer’s name. The fairy-tale number-girl was a beautiful contrast to the natural look of the models.
