"Exotic" Jewellery Performance and Jewellery Tasting

Date:  6 – 13th June 2007
Place: Orangerie Elfenau, CH-Bern

Nine florists worked together with nine jewellery designers. They created a stand for an exhibition called "Exotic", aimed at combining the two delicate art forms. Each stand featured a star spice (ginger, cardamom, chilli...). Both handcrafts worked together in unison, displaying their creativity and precision. The exhibition was open for one month.

Concept
On two evenings we created a very sensual performance. The scenery for the performance was greatly evocative, showing exotic plants and spices. An actor who looked like an Indian Deity guided the audience trough the show from stand to stand. In each position one was confronted with dancers moving to exotic music. The lighting enhanced the dancer’s movements and guided the visitors through the jungle. Between each performance, we used the sound of water, rainfall and birds. We provided a beautiful tour from the powerful rhythms from Africa, through the hypnotizing sounds from India to the electrical beats of Brazil…

After the show we prepared an exotic aperitiv where the audience could try on the beautiful jewellery pieces.
